This post is all about weird pregnancy symptoms people don’t talk about.

You know what I love about pregnancy? Not the symptoms! LOL Every single time I have been pregnant I have dealt with some weird pregnancy symptom that no one told me about. I mean, I’ve read some stuff around the internet but for me to experience them was another story.

I promise, I really do love pregnancy, but not necessarily be pregnant.

So what weird pregnancy symptoms did I go through?

1. Super High Libido

Oh my goodness! When I was pregnant with my first, my libido was through the roof, it was crazy.

2. Always Hungry but Never Full

With my first, every time I ate it was like I was never satisfied. I called it “a black hole”. I would eat 6 or 7 tacos straight and an hour later I was hungry again.

3. Massive Yeast Infections

As someone that did not suffer from yeast infections, when I used to get them while pregnant with my son, I didn’t know how to deal with it. It was horrible. I was always itchy and inflamed. I couldn’t even urinate without feeling like I was burning. I got these a few times while pregnant. If you are dealing with this, talk to your OB/GYN so they can prescribe you the best medicine for you.

4. Depression

With my second, the depression was intense. I would wake up and feel so down and cry for absolutely no reason.

5. Dry as The Sahara Desert

My poor husband. When he wanted some good ol’ love-making, I couldn’t “perform”. I was so dry and nothing that we tried was helping. This went on for a while even after I gave birth 🥴

6. Insomnia

This was one of those weird pregnancy symptoms that I just couldn’t deal with because I was always so tired and could fall asleep. This happened all the time during my 3rd pregnancy. Listening to the Christian Hypnobirthing App helped me relax enough to fall asleep.

7. Increased Sense of Smell

When I tell you I can smell my husband’s breath from afar! OMG! I couldn’t even kiss him! 😂😂 I remember one time I was begging him crying to brush his teeth when he had just done it! LOL The increased sense of smell was mind-blowing! I also stopped cooking meats all the time cause the smell was driving me crazy 🥴

8. Constipation

Yup, this one right here was annoying. I couldn’t go to the bathroom for about a week with my 2nd so I decided to drink chia seeds… It didn’t work LOL

9. Pounding Headaches

The headaches I was getting while pregnant with my 2nd were so bad they would send me to sleep. Good thing I was already a stay-at-home-mom so I used to just lay on the couch. You know what helped a lot? My lovely husband started making me herbal teas everyday until they weren’t so bad and I could function throughout the day.

10. Nausea

I was always nauseous with babies 2 and 3. All day, everyday. What helped me was sucking on a slice of lemon or lemon with water and salt. Weird? Sure. But very effective.

11. Horrible Backaches

One of the worst, weird pregnancy symptoms I had to deal with was the horrible backaches! With my 3rd, this was the worst thing (other than the insomnia) that I went through with baby number 3. I was absolutely horrible. Thank goodness for my Danny that he was more than willing to give me back massages every single day. I also used a pregnancy pillow that helped tremendously.

No matter what kind of weird pregnancy symptoms I am going through I just know that it won’t last forever. That’s the mentality we have to have when riding this 9-month-long ride: it won’t last forever.

  1. Women should be able to complain loudly about all the discomfort during pregnancy. Thanks for bringing them up.
Pelvic girdle pain was horrendous for me and affected weird things like it was really painful to put on pants without sitting down and it hurt to push a shopping cart.

  2. We are about to begin ttc, so this was great info for what things I may soon experience. Even though I know there will definitely be discomfort, it will be worth it to welcome a new life into our family.
